The Armstrong CD33S Thermodynamic Disc Steam Trap with Strainer is a controlled-disc design engineered to extend service life well beyond typical disc traps. By controlling the trap’s cycle rate, the CD-33 Series minimizes maintenance time and greatly reduces steam costs. Built with an ASTM A743 GR. CA40 stainless steel body rated to 915 psig at 752°F (63 bar at 400°C), the CD33S handles capacities up to 2,500 lb/hr (1,134 kg/hr) and includes an integral strainer for pipeline protection.
The three-discharge-port design offers stable disc operation that extends the operating life of the trap. Unlike conventional disc traps that cycle rapidly and wear out quickly, the CD-33 Series controls the cycle rate to reduce wear while maintaining efficient condensate removal. The compact, lightweight design makes it easy to install in tight spaces.
Key Features
- Controlled cycling extends service life beyond typical disc traps
- Three-discharge-port design for stable disc operation
- ASTM A743 GR. CA40 stainless steel body rated to 915 psig at 752°F
- Built-in strainer for pipeline protection
- Capacity up to 2,500 lb/hr (1,134 kg/hr)
- Compact, lightweight design for tight installations
- Minimum wear with controlled cycling
Applications
Designed for drip, tracer, and process applications where high-pressure capability and compact size are requirements. The controlled cycling design is especially beneficial in high-cycle applications where conventional disc traps would fail prematurely. Ideal for steam mains, tracer lines, and equipment with limited installation space.
